I recently had the same problem and resolved it actually, I think 'circumvented' would be a better word but specifying the "DOMAIN ADMINS" user group when asked for the App-V administrators during setup - so although the article linked above seems to suggest that the account you need to check is the one you're installing with, it's actually referring to the group supplied during installation. I've got the same error as a symptom and used the createdb sql scripts referred to earlier. But in none of my app-v installs have i seen an option to specify the group like admin or domain admin during the setup - i get the error before that. Actually - i use the sql mngt studio to browse ad and specify the group or user and then when i click ok i get a error stating that it cant find that user or group in AD although i just used the top of that dialog box to browse and add it!
